How to Grow Sour Diesel
Sour Diesel is a moderately difficult strain to grow with a longer-than-usual flowering time of 9 to 10 weeks indoors. The medium/large size plants branch into a strong, open structure with long internodes. They are susceptible to powdery mildew. Humidity should be low for best results. Yields may be optimized up to 500 g/m2 indoors. Grown outdoors in hot, dry climates, Sour Diesel can produce multiple-pound trees, ready to harvest by mid-October.

Well now, these sour diesel seeds surprised me quite a bit. I’ve been cultivating strains for years and this one right here didn’t disappoint. Germination rate was right on 100%, strong and healthy babies they were. Tied em into some LST and they responded just perfect. Final buds were large and tightly packed, with a sticky resin that smelt just like diesel fuel. The high? Heady, invigorating, helps a man get through his chores without feelin’ like it’s chores! Bought 5 of these last year and finally got around to growing them earlier a few months ago. I started them in a paper towel and all of them began germination after 24 hours. The seedlings looked a little weak for the first few days but then they just took off and became very healthy plants. Currently 5 feet tall in bloom and still growing, probably going to yield between 1/2 – 3/4 lbs each maybe more. These plants are extremely frosty, very bushy, with lots of colas.

I’m stroked on the growth, have yet to harvest so I’ll leave another update soon. I’m using an Electric Sky ES-300 for grow, 4 plants in a 3×3 scrog, Advanced nutrients grow, micro and bloom. Currently on day 63F and got frosty buds that keep on growing.

They are quite bushy so a big plant but heavy with bud. I got 100g dried weight from one and 80g from another. They were grown hydroponically under a Phlizon 600W LED light. Not sure if I did well or they are just low weight. Still a very strong smoke though, but I was expecting a little more. Either way I’m really happy with the results. The smoke is strong and relaxes you for hours after a couple of hits.
