Cherry Pie Origin and Genetics
Originating straight from Cali, Cherry Pie was bred by crossing an F1 Durban Poison with Grand Daddy Purple genetics. It is a creation of the Bay Area-based Cookie Fam, breeders responsible for the popular marijuana strains Girl Scout Cookies, Sunset Sherbet, and Gelato. Cherry Pie won 3rd place medical sativa at the 2014 Cannabis Cup in Denver. Initially a clone-only strain, a few seed companies now offer feminized Cherry Pie seeds for sale.
How to Grow Cherry Pie
Cherry Pie is a moderately easy strain to grow that is not too fussy about nutrients. The plants are short to medium in size and do not stretch much. They grow in a typically indica fashion with dark green broad leaves and hefty, dense flowers. Cherry Pie’s flowering time is 8 weeks. Indoor cultivators are able to produce over 650 g/m2 of quality bud. Grown outside, Cherry Pie plants can yield over a pound each, ready to harvest by the end of October.
