I do not recommend it for beginner growers however, this plant is very sensitive to nutrients and will show signs of stress readily if you don’t know what you are doing. Deep green healthy leaves, makes other plants look pale in comparison. It seems to be completely resistant to powdery mildew, while the others in my grow tent were facing heavy damage, the Jack Herer plants showed no signs of infection.
What it doesn’t seem to like is pruning. It takes longer than any other strain I have grown so far to recover from pruning, making her not so easy to use as a mother plant for cutting clones.
Unfortunately average harvest quantity in my experience so I can’t recommend it to commercial cultivators, but the cannabis connoisseur should not miss this very special variety.

Good strain! I grew 2 of these outside in my garden, on the coast of Central California, at 600 feet in altitude. They were taller than me (i’m 5′ 11”) and yielded just over a pound each. Jack has a very distinct smell, it reminds me of a sweet honey vanilla like smell. Buds have nice piney orange hairs and grow in popcorn nugs with lots of crystallization.

Last time I tried Jack was around 10 years ago and it was the Greenhouse seeds version. Got it as a femmed freebie from Attitude seedbank. She grew into a bush… pretty compact with vanilla smelling buds. Yields were lower than the others at only 4 ounces from a 3 foot plant. Veg time was 3 weeks. A decent strain but nothing to write home about. Maybe other phenotypes are better and I got the dud.
