Cover Crop-Yellow Blossom Sweet Clover -Organic DescriptionMelilotus officinalis Yellow Blossom Sweet clover is a cold-tolerant biennial that's hard working-mining insoluble minerals from the soil, fixing nitrogen, and providing generous amounts of organic matter to the earth. With a deep taproot structure, this cover crop is drought tolerant while it digs deep to break up hardpan. Best when planted soon after the last spring frost, it will over-winter and bloom the following spring, producing beneficial insect food in addition to a maximized amount of green manure from 4-6 foot tall plants.
