Cover Crop-Mammoth Red Clover-Organic DescriptionTrifolium pratense var. sativum A biennial legume that is easily established, fast growing, and tolerant of acidic soils. Mammoth Red can fix as much as 200 pounds of nitrogen per acre. Reaching a height of 3 feet at maturity, it provides a great amount of organic material to incorporate into the soil. This clover is considered a single-cut type, so for best results, mow it down a few weeks before planting your garden. Recommended seeding rate: 1/2 pound per 1000 square feet or 20 pounds per acre.
