Daucus carota var. sativus 240 days fall sown, 60-70 days spring sown. A truly all-weather carrot, Merida is a superb choice to sow in fall for harvest the following spring, or it can be planted with your spring garden. This Nantes type carrot grows crunchy, sweet, vibrant orange roots, that are 7-8 inches long and 1-1 1/2 inches wide. For overwintering in zones 6 and below, mulch well, otherwise these hardy carrots can remain uncovered throughout the winter.
