Sowing Indoors-Sow 3-4 seeds per inch in sterile seedling mix, 3 weeks prior to planting outside. Remember to harden off for 2-3 days before planting outside. To harden off, set transplants outside in a sheltered area and reduce the amount of water.
Sowing Outdoors-Direct sow after the danger of frost has passed. For fall harvests, direct sow in the end of July or the beginning of August.
Growing Tips-Successive sowings allow for continual harvests.
Fertilization Tips-Minimal fertilization is necessary for adequate growth. Apply 1/2 cup of a blended organic fertilizer per 10 row feet to provide the nutrition necessary for optimum production.
See individual varieties for seed counts.
